A day rewarded

Today, I finally had the chance to sleep in and not worry about setting my alarm to 6:30 AM. I woke up around 10 AM feeling highly refreshed and happy because I had slept for ten hours. I had a positive attitude the whole day which I guessed was because of how comfortable I had slept. I got ready for a day of relaxation and friends. We headed out to Providence Place, the mall, because many of us agreed that a reward after a stressful but pleasant week had been earned. Everything is so big here and by that I mean that the mall is HUGE. I love it, I love it, I truly love it. I felt that all my hard work and effort was rewarded today and I was so happy.

Pizza!
After the mall, we walked back to Perkins Hall and dropped off our bags in our rooms and got ready to start walking to Flat-bread Co. which is a pizza place that was located on Thayer Street. I can honestly say that from the bottom of my heart, this is the best pizza I have ever had in my life. It was so delicious and very much needed after a week long of eating cafeteria food or maybe, I was just really hungry after the mall.
Why am I always the one who poses?

In the afternoon, we planned to go to the water/fire performance and be there for about three or two hours. We were so fortunate to have the chance to see the show because if it was scheduled to be next Saturday, we wouldn't have had that once in a lifetime opportunity to see the show. Everything was so bright and enchanting. I was mesmerized by all the fire and beautiful lights coming from both the sunset and paper lamps. I sat on a bridge and while watching the burning logs in the middle of the river, I was missing my family. I was thinking how beautiful and special this moment would've been if my family was here with me enjoying the spectacular view. But at the end, I was happy they weren't here for the reason that this trip wouldn't have a meaning if they were present. I wanted independence and freedom and that is what I received. I believe it's normal to be missing my family a week into this course right?

During water/fire, we got dessert after pizza and passed by an ice-cream booth. They had limited choices of ice-cream flavors but I picked black raspberry. Very, very tasty and creamy I must say the ice-cream was. It was the cherry on top of the sundae, nothing else would've made this day any better. I enjoyed my friends and myself to the max today and I just appreciate what the Ivy League Connection so generously gives me more everyday.

  1. There's nine of you back in Providence right now and reading your blogs I'm seeing some recurring themes with the prime item having something to do with sleeping in. Someone will have to explain this concept to me.

Then I'm reading about shopping, food, more food and, of course, RiverFire.

Sounds like a good Saturday to me.
